  • 1.6mm is the legal requirement and a tyre starts to lose its effectiveness from 3mm. We recommend your tyres are replaced between 2-3mm
  • A court can issue a maximum fine of up to £2,500 per tyre plus 3 points per tyre for having illegal tyres.
  • When driving, the only contact you have with the road is about the size of your palm.
  • Under inflated tyres can dramatically increase your fuel consumption and quickly wear the edges of your tyres.
  • Over inflated tyres can cause over-steer and quickly wear down the center of your tyres quickly.
  • Bumping up kerbs, speed humps and pot holes can gradually knock your wheel alignment(tracking) out, causing uneven premature wear on the edges of your tyres. We recommend wheel alignment is checked every six months.
